ASHTANGA YOGA

Ashtanga Yoga offers a vigorous flow of specific classic poses that heat the body to safely stretch and strengthen with an accent on the soothing breath.

 

 

ASHTANGA BASICS

These classes introduce the Ashtanga poses in detail.  An opportunity for beginners to ease into Ashtanga and experienced students to refine their poses. As each class stands alone, students may start with any class. 

 

ASHTANGA LEVEL I

Open to all, including beginners, this class has  an opening segment of instruction and warmup, then an hour of Ashtanga flow with poses from the Primary Series.

 

ASHTANGA LEVEL II

This class offers a full 90 minutes of Ashtanga Yoga, the entire Primary Series.  Three months Ashtanga yoga experience or a high level of fitness recommended.

 

ASHTANGA LEVEL III

The Second Series of Ashtanga Yoga, which builds on the Primary Series and offers more advanced poses.  Modifications are presented so students can work their way up to the final poses.  Open to Level II students or by instructor permission.

 

ASHTANGA SHORT FORM

This hour-long class is the same as the Level I class, but minus the opening segment of instruction and warmup.

 

FLOW YOGA

Play outside the traditional order of postures for an invigorating workout, as the instructor offers an eclectic blend of poses, Ashtanga and other, in a flow.  Different every week!  Open to those with three months yoga experience or those who are actively fit.

HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga presents classic poses and breathing techniques, drawing on an eclectic mix of yoga styles.

 

 

HATHA LEVEL I

At a moderate pace,  beginners can learn and improve on their poses and breathing and experienced students can focus on the foundations of their practice.  Attention is given to accommodating individual needs and levels of fitness.

 

HATHA LEVEL II

PRENATAL AND POSTNATAL YOGA

Classes especially geared to the needs of pregnant women and new mothers.

 

 

PRENATAL

Postures are taught to help make pregnancy more comfortable while preparing the body for giving birth.  Includes work on breath awareness, flexibility, and  strength. Open to all levels of yoga experience, including beginners. 

 

MOM AND BABY

New mothers bring their babies to this fun class with no prior yoga experience required.  Gentle yoga poses help with regaining muscle tone and strength after giving birth.  Includes some yoga for the babies too. Only babies who are not yet crawling, please.
